I wanted to write a post about some new things I tried thanks to Influenster! It was my first box with Influenster (www.influenster.com) and I was SO excited to get my box!! In fact, my daughter and I were so excited to open it to see what the wonderful Love VoxBox contained... And were we pleasantly surprised and happy!!
The first test product was a Ghirardelli Gourmet Milk Chocolate bar. Oh my! I know... I'm on Weight Watchers. But they have the bar broken up into 8 pieces, so I could just have one square to satisfy my craving for chocolate! PERFECT! It was 32% cacao, milk chocolate bar called Chocolate Devotion! The chocolate was smooth, tasted great, and satisfied that sweet tooth craving that I had. So good! Definitely will be purchasing these again!
The second test product was Stash Premium Herbal Tea Sampler. They are caffeine-free and all herbal! There were 9 flavors in our sample: Acai Berry (tart hibiscus flowers combined with natural acai berry, blackberry, and blackcurrant flavors), Blueberry Superfruit (a blend of fruit flavors), Chamomile (has an apple-like taste), Cinnamon Apple Chamomile (spicy cinnamon and apple flavors), Lemon Ginger (lemon flavor with a "bite" of ginger), Licorice Spice (great as an after dinner tea - instead of coffee), Mango Passionfruit (sweet fruit flavor and wonderful scent that reminds you of a relaxing day on an island), Peppermint (clean and refreshing, can be served hot or iced... it was wonderful iced!), and Wild Raspberry Hibiscus (tasted like wildberries). I was unable to try two of the tea blends (Chamomile and Cinnamon Apple Chamomile) due to my allergy to ragweed and Chamomile being in the ragweed family. All the rest were awesome!! I think my favorite was the Peppermint flavor! I put it over ice and it was SO refreshing!! YUMMY!! Will be buying some of these in the near future!
My next test product was a product that I already was using. I was so happy to see it in my box, though!! It was Truvia Natural Sweetener packets! Being on Weight Watchers, I have looked through all the different natural and artificial sweeteners... I loved Truvia for the fact that it tastes great and it is a natural sweetener that comes from the Stevia plant. I use it on my cereal, in my tea and coffee, on my strawberries and other fruits... basically anywhere I would usually use sugar! It tasted great and was perfect. I put my packets in my purse so that I would have some Truvia when I was out at restaurants. You can always find the artificial sweeteners and sugar on the table, but never a natural sweetener like Truvia! So I was happy to have mine to put in my tea when I was out for dinner! I was already a purchaser and will continue to purchase it!! :-)
The next test product was the Gillette Venus & Olay Razor. I was already a user of the Gillette Venus razor, but I was using the regular blades and sometimes the special scented ones. I never knew of the Olay brand refills and I was really excited to try it. I have to say that these have officially become my new razor blades forever! I got a close shave, no nicks or cuts, and I didn't need to use moisturizer after shaving because my legs already were perfectly moisturized by the Olay moisture bars on the razor! I love how there is no need for shaving cream or gel... Everything is right there on the razor blade refills! Much easier to shave and gave me a wonderful shave and my legs looked great!! I will definitely be purchasing the Olay brand refills for my Gillette Venus razor from now on!!
My last test product in my VoxBox was Kiss Nail Dress Strips! I received the Shrug pattern... it look just like the new "crackle polish" look that everyone is wearing now! I loved them!! There is no drying time! Just peel, apply, and shape for a manicure (or pedicure) that lasts over 10 days! Mine lasted longer than 10 days! It was so simple and easy to do and the fact that there was no stink, no smudges, no dry time, and could be used on my hands or feet definitely made me LOVE them a ton! I found I needed to use either manicure scissors or nail clippers to cut the ends off instead of just filing it. That definitely was not a deal breaker! They were great on both my fingers and toes! I can't wait to try out all 18 styles, some of which are three-dimensional with jewels and awesome patterns!!
I have to say that this was my first VoxBox and I hope that I can get more in the future!!! This was totally awesome and I am looking forward to doing more reviews!!
Thanks again to Influenster for supplying these products for me to test!! THANK YOU!!
:-)

Today starts off my first day of my new "life".
At 5pm, I will be checking into my first Weight Watchers meeting of 2012.
I did WW back in 2008 when I was preparing to be in a wedding. I lost a fair share of weight and actually had to have my dress DRAMATICALLY altered before the wedding. After the wedding, we spent time with family and on vacation... where I decided to throw caution into the wind and eat what I wanted. Well... That didn't work out too well and after one meeting back at home, I quit WW and gained all the weight back (plus some more unsightly pounds).
So I am "returning to my roots". My first meeting is exciting to me. Not the first weigh-in... DEFINITELY not the first weigh-in. I don't even want to KNOW what my weight is. I know it's NOWHERE near where I want it to be and I'm just so "afraid" of it. But I know that I need to lose a LOT...
Now, when I say a "LOT", I'm not talking like the people on the commercial saying "I need to lose 45 pounds!" I'm talking about at least 100 pounds. Yes, you read that number right. It's a "1" with TWO zeros after it. And that is my MINIMUM.
So after tonight, I will come back and update my little ticker on the side with how much weight I need to lose to get to my "goal weight". I'm putting my goal weight somewhere between 145 and 160. I'll make the final decision when I get there and fill out my registration.
But until then... I'm getting ready to shed the pounds and become the woman I used to be!!
